Description
Love coloring, then you need a dungeon monster coloring book! Dungeon Monsters & Tavern Tales: A Gamer’s A to Z Coloring Book with Short Stories is an alphabetic menagerie of monsters. After all, why should kids have all the fun?
Our favorite part of D&D has always been imagining the amazing creatures that we encounter. What is D&D without fabulous monsters? It’s just people sitting around rolling dice. So we thought we would bring some of those lovely beasties to life. Why color butterflies and bunnies when we could be coloring minotaur and kraken or a whole monster coloring book?
Written and illustrated by Catherine Thrush, the book began with the images. While drawing Catherine realized that coloring both sides of the paper might be a problem if markers are your medium of choice. Since she is a writer as well as an artist, she decided to create a short story about the image to go on the back of each page. Straight up adventures, fractured fairy tales, noir detective stories, we got something for everyone. A few of the stories contain “colorful” language, but then, it is a grown-up coloring book.
A handful of the characters are recurring; some are characters we or our friends played in adventures. Nearly every story includes a tavern, pub or inn in some fashion. That’s our homage to how many adventures have started or ended there, both in the real world and the world of RPGs. Why the alphabet? Well, we just liked the idea of having a definite beginning and end.
Each colorable image comes with a short story about what happened in the image on the reverse side. Pages are perforated so you can take out your favorite image/story to frame or share.

Daryen Playford –
This coloring book is top notch! Not only are the drawings beautiful and fun to color, but the stories for each page are well written and entertaining. The book itself is great quality so you can use your medium of choice. Best of all the stories are on the back side of the drawing they belong to so if you decide to take out one of the perforated pages the story will stay with your drawing!

I backed this on Kickstarter for a few reasons, firstly I’ve purchased a few items from Urban Realms and the products are top quality and well made, secondly, when I first saw this on Kickstarter,I immediately thought of my daughter and how she is at an age were she is learning to color,so this is a great product to for me and her to do,not to mention I’m passing on my love of D&D to her.my last reason as to why I backed this is because despite Urban Realms being a small company, they put a lot heart, effort, and determination into the products they make, and not just that but interaction with customers and making sure what you get is 110% satisfactory.
